FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions garages ask before they order, by part range.
General
Who do you supply?
Independent garages, bodyshops and dealers. Deutschland is a trade supplier of German vehicle parts.
Which makes do you cover?
Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, including the vans garages see most, such as the Transporter, Caddy, Sprinter and Vito.
What do you need from me to give a price?
The vehicle registration and the part you need. The reg tells us the exact engine, chassis and options, which decides the right part.
Where is the trade counter?
Unit 11 Monks Heath Hall Workshops, Chelford Road, Nether Alderley, Macclesfield SK10 4SY, where the A34 meets the A537.
How do I open a trade account?
Fill in the short application on the trade accounts page and we will be in touch to set it up.
Can you get parts that are not listed?
Send the registration and the part. The ranges on the site are the ones garages order most, not a full list.
Brakes
Why do you need the registration to price brake discs?
German cars of the same model can use different disc sizes and calipers depending on engine, trim and brake options. We check the reg against the engine code, chassis and build data so the discs and pads we quote are the ones that fit.
Do you supply wear sensors and EPB parts as well as discs and pads?
Yes. The brake range includes pad wear sensors, calipers, flexible hoses, handbrake parts and electronic parking brake components. Send the reg and tell us what you need, and we will come back with a price and availability for each.
Can I collect brake parts in person?
Yes. Orders can be collected from our trade counter at Unit 11 Monks Heath Hall Workshops, Chelford Road, Nether Alderley, Macclesfield SK10 4SY. If you would rather have them delivered, ask about delivery when you request a price.
Suspension & Steering
Does sport or adaptive suspension change which parts I need?
Often, yes. Shock absorbers, top mounts and arms can differ between standard, sport and adaptive setups on the same German model. We check the registration against the factory options before quoting so the part suits the car.
Do you supply suspension parts for vans?
Yes. Alongside Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen cars, we supply suspension and steering parts for common vans including the VW Transporter and Caddy and the Mercedes Sprinter and Vito.
How do I get a price for a control arm or wheel bearing?
Send the reg and the part you need by phone, WhatsApp or the price-request form on the website. We confirm the fitment and reply with a price and availability, then you can collect from Monks Heath or ask about delivery.
Engine & Timing
Why do you ask for the reg before quoting a timing kit?
One model name can cover several engines, and each engine code takes its own timing kit. Matching the reg to the engine code and build data means the kit we quote is the one that fits.
Can you quote a water pump with a timing belt kit?
Yes. On many Volkswagen Group engines the water pump is driven by the timing belt, so garages often change them together. Tell us you want both when you send the reg and we will price them as one job.
Do you supply timing chain kits for BMW and Mercedes-Benz?
Yes. The range includes timing chain kits as well as belt kits, alongside gaskets, seals and engine mounts. Send the reg and the part for a price and availability.
Cooling
Why does the gearbox type matter for a radiator?
On many German cars an automatic gearbox adds a transmission oil cooler to the radiator or changes the pipework. Matching the reg to the build options means the radiator we quote suits that car.
Do you supply thermostat housings as well as thermostats?
Yes. The cooling range includes thermostats and their housings, along with expansion tanks, hoses, fans and temperature sensors. Send the reg and the part for a price and availability.
Do you supply intercoolers for diesel vans?
Yes. We supply intercoolers and intercooler hoses for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, including common vans such as the Sprinter, Vito, Transporter and Caddy.
Electrical & Sensors
Do I need to tell you which sensor position I need?
It helps. Lambda, ABS and camshaft sensors often come in more than one position on the same car. Send the reg and the position if you know it, and we will match the part to the engine code and chassis before quoting.
Do you supply alternators for stop-start cars?
Yes. We supply starter motors and alternators for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, including stop-start models, which often take a different unit. The reg tells us which one the car needs.
Do you supply glow plugs for German diesels?
Yes. Glow plugs are part of the electrical range, alongside spark plugs and ignition coils for petrol engines. Send the reg for a price and availability.
Clutch & Transmission
How do I know if the car needs a dual-mass flywheel?
Many German diesels leave the factory with a dual-mass flywheel, but it depends on the engine and gearbox. Send the reg and we check the build data, then quote the clutch kit and the flywheel that suit that car.
Can you quote the slave cylinder with the clutch kit?
Yes. On many models the slave cylinder sits inside the bellhousing and is best changed with the clutch. Ask for it when you send the reg and we will price the parts together.
Do you supply driveshafts and CV boots for vans?
Yes. Driveshafts, CV joints and CV boot kits are in the range for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, including vans such as the Transporter, Caddy, Sprinter and Vito.
Filters & Service Parts
Can I send several registrations at once for service parts?
Yes. Send the regs and what each car needs by phone, WhatsApp or the price-request form. We match each one to its engine code and reply with a price and availability for every car.
Do you supply service kits?
Yes. Service kits are part of the range, along with individual oil, fuel, air and cabin filters, plugs, wiper blades and bulbs for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
Why does the engine code matter for an oil filter?
German manufacturers use different oil filter housings and cartridges across engine codes, even within one model. Matching the reg to the engine code means the filter we quote fits the housing on that car.
Exhaust & Emissions
Do NOx sensors differ before and after the catalyst?
Yes. Euro 6 diesels with SCR often use two NOx sensors, and each position takes its own part. Send the reg and the position if you know it, and we match the sensor to the engine and build data.
Do you supply EGR coolers as well as EGR valves?
Yes. The range includes EGR valves and EGR coolers for Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, along with DPF parts, sensors, exhaust sections and turbo hoses.
How do I order exhaust and emissions parts?
Send the reg and the part by phone, WhatsApp or the price-request form on the website. We check the fitment and reply with a price and availability, then you collect from Monks Heath or ask about delivery.
